Chris
Guitar, Bass, Ukulele - Guitar Technician
Chris began playing both the acoustic and electric guitar at the age of 11. He started lessons in his home under the guidance of his father, before taking formal lessons with accomplished guitarist, Mel Miller. These classes gave Chris a strong technical foundation and helped build diverse repertoire; by the time he was 12, he was playing in his church’s worship band and was the guitarist for his middle school’s jazz band. At age 17, Chris performed at his first international conference, playing in front of an audience of 7,000 in Mexico. He would continue to perform at large venues, including playing before an audience of 12,000 in Florida, and opening for popular country artists Reba McIntyre and Chris Young.
Chris moved to Kansas City where he worked as a session guitarist for ministry and would ghost write track for various worship directors. During this time he recorded and toured nationally with alternative band, The Radiance Effect. After his stay in Kansas City, Chris traveled to Portland, Oregon in pursuit of new musical projects. He joined Americana-country band, Chris Marshall & the August Light and worked with country-pop recording artist, Britney Kellogg. Some of his favorite performances include playing at larger festivals, such as Wonderfront.
Since returning to the Central Valley, Chris has continued to play with a number of local bands while maintaining his position as a church worship musician. He has been teaching private lessons for 10+ years and has worked with a wide range of age groups and experience levels. Students are taught a technical foundation while developing and incorporating their personal style in their repertoire. Chris facilitates an easy-going learning environment and lessons are paced to fit each student’s specific needs. Whether a beginner or advanced student, Chris can help you reach your musical goals.
