Christian first started studying music at an after-school guitar program in Selma, Ca.  He then went on to join the high school choir his freshman year.  Over the four years that he participated in his school choir, he developed a passion for music education and decided he wanted to become a music instructor.  He credits much of this decision to his high school choir director, who inspired his love for singing and teaching.  

After graduating high school, Christian was accepted into Fresno State University where he earned his BA in Music, focusing on Vocal Performance.  In 2015 he earned 2nd place for the Fresno Musical Club’s Young Singer Award before moving up to 1st place in 2017.  He performed in the CCNATS Competition for four consecutive years where he took 2nd place twice & 1st place twice in the Classical Division and 2nd place in the Musical Theatre Division.  He has performed in numerous operas including The Gondoliers, Die Fledermaus, Madama Butterfly, Albert Herring, Carmen and the Secret of Luca.  Christian took his education to the next level by studying abroad with the CSU Summer Arts program in Trossinger, Germany and Sant’ Angelo in Vado, Italy.  In addition to his collegiate education both at home and abroad, he has attended masterclasses with world-renown operatic soprano, Ellen Shade, and Russian baritone, Vladimir Chernov.  

During his college years, Christian studied piano and music education.  He discovered he loved to teach private lessons and watch individual students grow.  He believes that the purpose of music is to “fill the heart, lift the soul, and change lives” – a mission statement he adopted from an early childhood choir program.  He tailors his curriculum to fit each students’ needs and is experienced in performing and teaching various music styles.  As his student you can expect to learn proper technique, scales, and music notation while incorporating your personal style and reaching your music goals.  Christian is a dynamic and passionate instructor who builds his students’ skillset and confidence . Whether you are an advanced or beginner student, Christian promises to “be your biggest fan until you can be” (Christian).
