Kaycee

BA in Music Education | Voice, Piano

Kaycee began singing at an early age.  At the age of thirteen, she enrolled in vocal lessons and went on to join her high school choir where she truly fell in love with the craft.  She studied classical styles, which she particularly enjoyed, and performed in various musicals. It was during her junior year of high school that she decided she wanted to become a music educator.

Kaycee received her degree in Music Education with Vocal Emphasis from Fresno Pacific University.  While obtaining this degree, she studied a variety of instruments, particularly the piano.  She has performed in numerous operas and has sung in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York.  She currently sings with a professional choir in Fresno and is an active vocalist for weddings, funerals and other private events.

As a private voice and piano instructor, Kaycee believes one of the most important factors for student success is facilitating a positive learning environment. She works to make sure her students are receiving as much encouragement as they are constructive criticism.  Kaycee described studying music as being a safe place when she was struggling in other areas of her life, and hopes her students can find that same sentiment in her classes.  Her lessons place an emphasis on sight-singing and solfège, in addition to learning music theory and incorporating diverse repertoire.  “I want my students to learn, build confidence and have fun.  I want this to be an enjoyable experience” (Kaycee).  Kaycee is a well-educated and passionate instructor who is a great fit for both new students looking to dive into the world of music and current students looking to take their education to the next level.
